About Us

Who are we?

Scotch Plains Fanwood Lacrosse Club is proud to be a volunteer, registered non-profit organization that sponsors boys and girls lacrosse for Scotch Plains and Fanwood. We provide quality lacrosse instruction and playing opportunities to all boys and girls from ages kindergarten through 8th grade. We also support the Scotch Plains Fanwood High School varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams through a partially self-funded model that will resource equipment, uniforms, travel costs, game costs as well as training costs. We believe that lacrosse is a historical game with a rich legacy and should be practiced and played with the highest commitment, integrity, and sportsmanship.

General Notes

Due to SPFLC being an all-volunteer organization the number of teams we field is based on the availability of qualified coaches as well as the number and ability of players.  Team size may be limited to provide optimum instruction and manageability. Therefore our registration may be closed once we reach optimum roster size. Priority will be given to pre-existing members.

Playing Time

At the younger levels, the focus is on fun and fundamentals with playing time made as equal as possible.  As the grade level increases, so does the competitiveness so, in order to compete adequately in games with other programs, coaches will determine playing time-based largely on ability and performance as well as attendance and attitude.  The goal of the older grade levels is to provide a high level of instruction and challenge and to develop players who will go on to play in high school.
